In a time of isolation and uncertainty - during the first lockdown of the COVID-19 pandemic - a vision was born that goes far beyond technology. As medical informaticians with a deep understanding of the importance of memories and emotions in dementia therapy, my colleague Marcel and I founded Palithera. Our focus lies in merging medicine and technology to create a product that not only evokes memories but also enhances the well-being of people with dementia. The result of this vision is Sprechbild - an innovative solution grounded in medical research and cutting-edge technology.
The idea of bringing memories to life through real photos stems from the belief that visual stimuli and personal stories play a powerful role in dementia therapy. Studies show that access to positive memories can improve emotional well-being and cognitive function in individuals with dementia. Dr. Adam Maciak
My name is Dr. Adam Maciak, and I am the co-founder of Palithera GmbH. With a degree in Medical Informatics and a PhD in Neuroradiology, I have built a solid academic foundation to integrate technological innovations into medical practice. My extensive international experience has allowed me to think outside the box and develop new, efficient solutions for patient care. At Palithera, I am committed to ensuring that our technical solutions are simple, sustainable, and robust to meet the high standards of the healthcare sector.
On a personal level, I am especially motivated by my experience as the father of a young son and the challenges I have faced as a relative of a dementia patient. These personal insights have shaped my sense of urgency and dedication to advancing technological progress in healthcare. By combining my professional expertise with my personal experiences, I work daily to develop innovative solutions that sustainably improve the lives of patients and their families.
Marcel Stitz
My name is Marcel Stitz, and I am the founder of Palithera GmbH. With a degree in Health Information Management and extensive international experience, I have specialized in integrating modern technology into healthcare. These professional experiences have given me a deep understanding of the opportunities and challenges in this field. My motivation stems from personal experiences as the father of a young son and as a relative of a dementia patient. I have witnessed firsthand the difficulties and suffering that accompany this disease.
